Only what is needed
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. YURL uses necessary cookies to keep you signed in and protect restricted features. We do not use profiling cookies, advertising pixels or third-party behavioural analytics. Prior consent is not required for these necessary cookies; this page explains their use and lifetime.
YURL cookies
Account sign-in
__Host-yurl_sessionConnects your browser to your session. It is a random identifier, does not contain your password and cannot be read by page JavaScript. It is set after signup or login and removed on logout.
Lifetime: 7 days of inactivity; renewed when you actively use the site.
Administrative access
__Host-yurl_adminOnly for authorised operators after an additional access check. It is not set for ordinary visitors or dashboard users.
Lifetime: up to 15 minutes, never beyond the sign-in session.
These cookies belong to the YURL sign-in website and are not shared with yurl.page. Personal pages and redirects count visits and clicks on the server without adding analytics cookies for visitors.
Bot protection: Cloudflare Turnstile
Turnstile loads when you submit a protected form or request a free tool. It evaluates technical browser and connection signals to prevent abuse. YURL verifies each submission with a single-use token valid for up to five minutes; we do not use the result for advertising or commercial profiling.
Cloudflare provides this service through challenges.cloudflare.com. Its notice describes the verification mechanisms. The optional cf_clearance cookie relates to Cloudflare’s pre-clearance feature: YURL does not use it to authorise forms, which always require token verification. Cloudflare Turnstile notice.
Preferences and free tools
The page address identifies the language; we do not add a language cookie. Your newsletter choice is saved in your account, not in a cookie. Contents and logos entered in the QR generator and UTM builder stay in the page’s temporary memory; YURL does not save them in localStorage or sessionStorage. Downloaded files remain on your device until you choose to delete them.
How to manage them
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking sign-in cookies prevents you from staying signed in; blocking bot protection may stop some forms from working. Logging out removes the session cookie. Manage newsletter preferences in Account; they do not depend on cookies.
